General terms and rental conditions

1. Purpose

Raiatea Rent Car offers vehicles and accommodation (bungalows) for rent in Raiatea, French Polynesia.

Any booking request submitted through this website constitutes a request for information and not a firm booking. A booking is only final once we have confirmed it in writing (email or WhatsApp).

2. Quotes and rates

The rates shown on this website are “from” prices corresponding to a minimum 4-hour rental. They are not daily rates.

Beyond this minimum duration, the final rate depends on rental duration and season. A personalised quote is provided on request; it states the rental rate, the deposit amount and, where applicable, any additional services.

3. Driver requirements

The driver must hold a driving licence valid for at least one year and present the original when collecting the vehicle.

French and foreign licences are accepted. Proof of identity may be requested.

4. Deposit

A deposit is required when the vehicle is handed over. The amount varies depending on the model and is stated in your quote.

The deposit is returned when the vehicle is brought back, after checking its condition and the fuel level.

5. Fuel

The vehicle is supplied with a set fuel level and must be returned at the same level.

Fuel consumed during the rental is at the renter’s expense.

6. Use of the vehicle

The vehicle must be used carefully and in accordance with the Highway Code.

Subletting, driving by an undeclared person, taking part in competitions and transporting dangerous goods are prohibited.

Any offence or fine incurred during the rental period remains the responsibility of the renter.

7. Insurance and liability

The vehicle is insured for third-party damage and for damage to the vehicle, within the limits of the applicable insurance policy.

The renter remains liable for damage not covered, in particular in the event of driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs, unauthorised use or proven negligence.

Details of the cover and any excess are provided when the vehicle is handed over.

8. Returning the vehicle

The vehicle must be returned on the date, at the time and at the location agreed at the time of booking.

Any unreported delay may result in an additional day being charged.

The vehicle must be returned in the condition in which it was handed over, clean and without new damage.

9. Cancellation and changes

Any cancellation or change request must be notified to us as soon as possible by phone, email or WhatsApp.

The applicable cancellation conditions are specified when your booking is confirmed.

10. Accommodation (bungalows)

The bungalows are made available for the period confirmed at the time of booking.

The advertised amenities are provided. The renter undertakes to respect the quietness of the premises and to report any damage without delay.

11. Personal data

The processing of your personal data is described in our privacy policy, accessible from the footer of this website.

12. Governing law

These terms are governed by the law applicable in French Polynesia.

In the event of a dispute, we always favour an amicable solution. Failing that, the competent courts of French Polynesia shall have jurisdiction.
